Gabriel J. Bouz, MDOrthopaedic Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon

Gabriel J. Bouz, MD

Dr. Gabriel J. Bouz is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper-extremity surgery, with expertise in the treatment of conditions affecting the fingers, hand, wrist, elbow, and forearm, as well as general orthopaedic care.

A Southern California native born in San Dimas, California, Dr. Bouz earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at LACUSC Medical Center, where he was honored with the Herman Epstein Award for Clinical Excellence in recognition of his outstanding patient care and surgical skill. He then completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery fellowship at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, receiving advanced training in microsurgery, tendon transfers, complex fracture fixation, peripheral nerve surgery, and wrist and elbow arthroscopy.

Dr. Bouz is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care through clear communication, thoughtful education, and evidence-based treatment protocols. In addition to complex hand and upper-extremity surgery, he provides comprehensive general orthopaedic care, including the evaluation and management of acute injuries, fractures, joint pain, and degenerative conditions.

With extensive experience in workers’ compensation medicine, Dr. Bouz collaborates closely with patients, therapists, employers, and case managers to develop surgical and rehabilitation plans that promote efficient recovery, protect long-term function, and support a safe return to work. Whether treating acute trauma, repetitive-strain injuries, or degenerative arthritis, his approach blends advanced surgical technique with empathy and teamwork to help patients regain function and quality of life.
